Covered wagon tour - Guided tour
On a covered wagon tour you are taken at an easy pace through the National Park of Schiermonnikoog. Horses pull the wagon across the salt marsh, through the dunes and along the beach, while you spot birds and other animals. A great way to see nature if you cannot walk or cycle far.
What can you expect at a covered wagon tour?
Into nature: The nature tour lasts two to two and a half hours and crosses the salt marsh, for example towards the Oosterkwelder, through the dunes and over the beach. With binoculars you spot wading and meadow birds on the way. Halfway there is coffee or tea.
- Beachcombing: The two hour beachcombing tour runs along the beach, looking for whatever the sea has washed up. A great choice with (young) children.
- By full moon: From time to time there is a full moon tour, when the island looks completely different.
