Westerduinenpad - Observation point

The Westerduinenpad viewpoint is on a high dune in the Westerduinen of Schiermonnikoog. From the top you have a lovely view over the dunes, woods and village.

What can you expect at the Westerduinenpad viewpoint?

• Wide views: You look out over the rolling dune landscape of the Westerduinen and the area around the village.
• Photo spot: From this dune you can take a beautiful photo of the red lighthouse, the Noordertoren.
• Along the Westerduinenpad: The viewpoint is on the Westerduinenpad, which runs through the dunes to the green dyke above the Westerplas.
• Nature all around: In the surrounding dunes you will find birch woodland, wet dune valleys and high drifting dunes.

Practical information

• Tip: Come in the late afternoon or at sunset for the best light on the lighthouse.
• Breeding season: Stay on the paths from 15 April to 15 July.

The Westerduinenpad viewpoint is a nice spot to catch your breath and enjoy the nature of Schiermonnikoog.
